Canadian powered paraglider flies across Canada

Benjamin Jordan has just completed a 10,000 kilometer powered paramotor crossing of Canada in an effort to raise money for underprivileged children in Canada. Jordan started on the west coast of Canada in Tofino, British Columbia and over 6,200 miles to  John’s, Newfoundland. During his trip, Jordan crossed 9 provinces and parts of two oceans.

Jordan began his lengthy journey on May 15, 2009 and made his final landing on September 5th, 2009 for a total of 114 days. His inspiration for the trip was the underprivileged children in Canada who can not afford summer camp. Jordan stopped at 50 children camps during the flight and gave inspiration speeches to over 4,000 children.

Benjamin Jordan is no stranger to performing time consuming events for a cause. In 2004, Jordan rode a skateboard over 4,900 miles in an effort to raise money and awareness for the Canadian Breast Cancer Foundation. In 2008 he flew a paramotor over 1200 miles to document the devastation of the pine mountain beetle has had on the British Columbia forest.

Jordan is planning on documenting his journey in a book due out for the Holiday Season of 2009. More information on donating to his cause or purchasing the book when it becomes available can be found at the Above and Beyond Canada website.
